HTC is taking on the mid-range smartphone market with the Desire 626, a 5 inch 720p Smartphone with a Snapdragon 410 processor. What makes this device so interesting is that it is coming in at just under $200.
The HTC Desire 626 is a a 5.0 inches with a 720p display running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor running at 1.2Ghz with 1GB of RAM. It’s 2 tone multi color finish reminds us of their other Mid Range smartphone like the HTC Desire Eye that we got to check out in New York this Fall. Though the Desire 626 doesn’t come with the same 13MP front facing selfie beast as found on the Eye, it does have a 5MP front facing camera and the same 13MP camera found on the rear.

The Desire 626 is 8.9 mm thick and rather long for a 5 inch device measuring in at 146.9mm which is due to the Dual Boom Sound speakers found on the front of the Smartphone. Weighing in at 140grams it comes with a 2000mAh battery which initially we thought was a little low, but the Snapdragon 410 processor isn’t as big of a power hog as Qualcomm’s top tier processors.
Connectivity wise we’re looking at 4G/LTE (FDD) 700/850/900/1800/2100/2600Mhz, WCDMA – 850/900/2100MHz as well as GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz. Along side GPS +GLONASS, WiFi, DLNA and HTC Connect.
The Desire 626 will be available in Taiwan towards the end of February for 5999NT ($200USD). It won’t be heading to the Europe or North America but we should see it in other Asian countries in around the same time frame.
